5.2.3 Praktische implicaties van het onderzoek
Bij de hulpverleners zou meer bewustwording en erkenning moeten komen van het reducerende effect van waarnemings- en beoordelingspatronen (Goossensen, 2011). Bij de verzorging en huiskamermedewerker zou vanuit de staf van het verpleeghuis meer het besef
gekweekt moeten worden, dat ‘naasten’ zowel participanten (zouden kunnen) zijn als degenen die begeleid zouden moeten worden.
In korte overlegjes en samenwerkend met de verzorging of huiskamermedewerker is er al overdracht van informatie en kan de verzorging of huiskamermedewerker ook een inschatting maken van de capaciteiten van de verschillende vrijwilligers. Vanuit de staf van het verpleeghuis zou bij de verzorging en huiskamermedewerker meer de bewustwording gestimuleerd moeten worden, dat de naasten zowel participanten zouden kunnen zijn als degenen die begeleid zouden moeten worden. Hierdoor zou óók bij de vrijwilligers dit besef groter kunnen worden. In deze situatie zijn vrijwilligers niet meer aan het dwalen, maar hebben ze meer interne, psychische ruimte om zich tevens te identificeren met de naasten.
Mogelijk is er sprake van eenzijdigheid doordat de interviews met ‘naasten’ als uitgangspunt genomen is (na literatuuronderzoek). In een vervolgonderzoek zouden ook de ervaringen van de professionals (verzorging en andere disciplines) bekeken kunnen worden.
In een vervolgonderzoek zou verder gekeken kunnen worden hoe deze familietransitie vorm krijgt en hoe de professionals in onder andere het verpleeghuis hieraan kunnen
bijdragen.
Mogelijk kan vervolgonderzoek ook licht werpen op deze periode en hoe het al eerder begonnen proces een vervolg kan krijgen in het verpleeghuis.
