117 In deze scriptie heb ik een basis gelegd voor verder onderzoek naar de positie van audiovisuele

synergie in film. In verder onderzoek is het belangrijk dat gebruik wordt gemaakt van een gedeelde vocabulaire om aspecten van synergie te beschrijven. Op deze manier kan het fenomeen in verschillende contexten worden geanalyseerd. Zo is het interessant om te zien hoe filmmuziek functioneert in het werk van gerespecteerde filmmakers als Martin Scorsese of Sofia Coppola, maar is het net zo waardevol om te bestuderen hoe filmmuziek wordt ingezet in succesvolle actiefilms, horrorfilms, of de gestileerde filmwerelden van de momenteel populaire comic book-verfilmingen. Mijn scriptie maakt duidelijk dat audiovisuele synergie een belangrijk maar complex fenomeen is, en dat er op dit gebied nog genoeg valt te onderzoeken.
