- Category 2

- Min SFC P = 973mb (falling) - Sustained winds ~ 100mph

- General trend (48hrs) – intensifying

- Track shifing NW due to weakness in STR - Favorable UL and LL winds, SST’s ahead of storm path, some potential for shearing

- Not expected to re-strengthen after 3-5 days

- Not expected to pose threat to CA, minor concern for Caribbean.

Tropical Storm: “FRANK”

- Downgraded over 48 hrs - Min SFC P = 1000mb - Sustained winds ~ 50mph

- General trend (48hrs) – weakening

- Encountering shear, but likely to stabilize after next 48hrs.

- Convective banding more disorganized - Prevailing Srly winds from E Pac to

advect moisture and produce locally heavy rains into S Mexico, and possibly western CA for near-term.
