Verwijsindicaties behandeling kinderen

De NHG-Standaard Kinderen met koorts beveelt aan om alle kinderen < 1 maand met koorts zonder meer te verwijzen naar een kinderarts en ook alle kinderen met koorts in de leeftijd van 1 tot 3 maanden, tenzij er een duidelijke focus voor de koorts is (zie NHG-Standaard Kinderen met koorts). Omdat het met zekerheid vaststellen van een urineweginfectie als focus van koorts bij een negatieve nitriettest minimaal 18 uur duurt (dipslide) beveelt de werkgroep aan om alle kinderen < 3 maanden met koorts zonder duidelijk focus te verwijzen.
