11 leerkrachten en 11 directies participeerden. Om de betrouwbaarheid van het onderzoek te verhogen, zou dit onderzoek moeten worden herhaald met een grotere steekproef. Ten tweede namen de participerende scholen het meubilair van Dox recent in gebruik, wat impliceert dat bepaalde affordances omtrent duurzaamheid en future-proof meubilair moeilijker te operationaliseren zijn. Na drie jaar kan namelijk niet worden bepaald of het meubilair op lange termijn rendeert. Bijgevolg zou het interessant zijn om in vervolgonderzoek binnen een paar jaar na te gaan of het meubilair voldoende duurzaam en future-proof is. Ten derde werden in dit onderzoek slechts vier principes van het (sociaal) constructivisme besproken. Reflectief leren, doelgericht leren, complex leren en construerend leren werden niet aangehaald. Het is aangewezen om in vervolgonderzoek ook de vier andere principes in rekening te brengen.

Conclusie
Deze masterproef onderzocht welke affordances aan de basis liggen van het meubilair van Dox in de leeromgeving van het lager onderwijs. Uit de interviews blijkt dat het meubilair van Dox zowel de constructivistische leeromgeving ondersteunt, als een leeromgeving waarin 21ste-eeuwse vaardigheden
centraal staan. Volgens alle participanten is de flexibiliteit van het meubilair één van de belangrijkste kenmerken die bovengenoemde leeromgevingen faciliteren. Daarnaast tonen resultaten aan dat alignment aanwezig is tussen de visie en de inrichting van de leeromgeving in het grootste deel van participerende scholen. Scholen geven wel aan dat ze momenteel financieel beperkt worden om deze samenhang te optimaliseren. Bijgevolg worden aanbevelingen geformuleerd voor zowel het beleid als de praktijk om tegemoet te komen aan deze financiële beperkingen. Een Public Private Partnership tussen de Vlaamse overheid en Dox blijkt hierbij een mogelijke aanpak.
