Happy time always goes so fast. During these years, I have enjoyed a wonderful life and got lots of support in the Netherlands. Here, I would like to thank all the people who have helped and accompanied me.

First and foremost, I must express my deepest gratitude to my supervisor Prof. dr. Sven van IJzendoorn. Dear Sven, I am very grateful that you have given me the opportunity to be a PhD student in your group. Under your patient supervision, you help me improve not only research knowledge but also scientific thought and confidence to overcome difficulties. Thank you for your exciting ideas and helpful discussions. I admire your friendly attitude, brilliant idea and efficient working habit. Thanks for giving me a relaxed environment in which I can do my research without high pressure and also have time to enjoy life in the Netherlands. I wish you great success in your research and happy life with your family.

Then, I would like to appreciate Dr. Diego Arango. You provide so many great ideas and suggestions in our studies. Thank you very much for your time and energy to support the animal experiments. You are so friendly and enthusiastic. Your talented mind and passion on science impressed me a lot.

Next, I would like to further express my great appreciation to Karin. “It is the first step that costs troublesome.” When I first come to the lab, everything is new and difficult. But luckily, with so patient and kind favor, you help me to familiarize all stuff, teach me techniques, and guide me upon the scientific road. More importantly, thank you very much for your help in many assays and data analysis. For this reason, my PhD journey is much smooth and not lonely. You contribute so much to keep the lab running regularly, which also impressed me.

I’m also very grateful to have lovely group members. Arend, thank you very much for your previous research work, a lot of favors, and useful discussions to solve my doubts.

Qinghong and Yue, it is destiny to be in the same group and same office. We are like

brothers and sisters. Thank you for the daily help and concern, warm and fragrant parties. Lavinija, luckily to meet you in the same group. I’m pleased to talk and work with you. I also would like to express my acknowledgements to the students I
