Curriculum Vitae
Karène Sanchez was born in Perpignan, France on March 22, 1975. She holds a university diplom in History, majoring from the Via Domitia Perpignan University, 1996 (cum laude). In 1998, she completed her Master degree in History (Middle East) at Paul Valéry Montpellier III University (cum laude). In 1999, she obtained an MA in French as a Foreign Language (cum laude). Between 2000 and 2002, she prepared for the French teacher certification exams CAPESand Agrégation at the University of Paris IV Sorbonne. From 2002 to 2005, she was posted as a teacher to Jerusalem by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In Jerusalem, she was able to carry out research on archives and projects of academic cooperation. Since 2005, she has been working at the French Department at Leiden Univer- sity. She is currently preparing a monograp of the city of Hebron during the British Mandate period. Since 2007, she participates in the research project ANR “Faiseurs d’histoire, fai- seurs d’archives”, and seminars at the CNRS (Centre national de la recherche scientifique), EHESS (Ecole des hautes études en sciences sociales) institutes (IISMM, CEIFR).
