Norm
Het formuleren van hypothesen voor de ontwerpvariabele norm is niet mogelijk in dit onderzoek. De kenmerken van de ontwerpvariabele norm, die worden beschreven in hoofdstuk 2.1.3., hebben hoofdzakelijk betrekking op het proces dat vooraf gaat aan het stellen van de norm. Hierbij moet worden gedacht aan: wie bepalen norm en hoeveel invloed hebben ondergeschikten bij de bepaling van deze norm? In dit onderzoek worden statische gegevens geanalyseerd, die geen beschrijving geven over processen die voorafgaan aan de formulering van de norm. Wanneer al wel hypothesen geformuleerd kunnen worden over de ontwerpvariabele norm, zijn deze af te leiden van hypothesen die reeds zijn geformuleerd bij de ontwerpvariabelen doelstelling en prestatie-indicator.

Daarentegen zijn in hoog-context en diffuse culturen meer incentives vastgelegd die gericht zijn op de lange-termijn, dan in laag-context en specifieke culturen. Dit omdat deze incentives in de loop van de jaren aangepast kunnen worden in verband met beïnvloeding van
omgevingsfactoren.

Van alle vier de perspectieven zijn de ontwerpvariabelen, met uitzondering van initiatief, weergegeven in onderstaande vier tabellen. De tabellen dienen als volgt gelezen te worden:
