1. Een veelheid aan genen, omgevingsfactoren en hun interacties dragen bij aan disruptief gedrag bij kinderen. (alle hoofdstukken)
2. Gen-omgevingsinteracties hebben betrekking op verschillende biologische mechanismen.
(hoofdstuk 4-7)
3. Stress, zowel bij de moeder gedurende de zwangerschap als bij het kind zelf, vormt een sterk geassocieerde risicofactor voor disruptief gedrag. (hoofdstuk 2 en 3)
4. Gen-omgevingsinteracties spelen in het bijzonder een rol bij meer ernstige subtypen van disruptief gedrag, zoals symptomen van Conduct Disorder (normoverschrijdend-gedragsstoornis). (hoofdstuk 4-6)
