Curriculum Vitae

Marian J.A.J. Verhallen was born December 1, 1951 in Arnhem, The Netherlands. She completed the MMS in The Hague in 1972. After graduation from Teacher’s Training College in 1975 she worked in the inner city of The Hague in primary and special education. She graduated as Master of Arts in Education and Child Studies in 2003. From 2003 she worked as a lecturer in the educational sciences while completing her PH. D.

research on the effect of video storybooks on story understanding and language development of young immigrant children learning a second language.
