CURRICULUM VITAE

Dan Ye was born on November 22nd 1979 in the P.R. China. In 1998, she started her university education at Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, majoring in Biotechnology. From 2002 to 2003, she has majored in Genetics under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mu-yuan Zhu in the college of Life Sciences, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. In 2004, she was sponsored by the Chinese government to come to the Division of Biopharmaceutics of the Leiden/Amsterdam Center for Drug Research (LACDR), Leiden University, as a master student for one year, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Theo J.C. Van Berkel and Dr. Miranda Van Eck. In 2005, she went back to China and obtained her Master’s degree in Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. Starting from September 2005, she has been working as a Ph.D. student in the Division of Biopharmaceutics of the LACDR, Leiden University, under the same supervision of Prof. Dr. Theo J.C. Van Berkel and Dr. Miranda Van Eck. During the 3-year Ph.D. student period, her research was mainly focused on the role of ATP-binding cassette transporters and lipid transfer proteins in macrophage cholesterol homeostasis and atherosclerosis. From September 1st 2008, she is appointed as a postdoctoral fellow at the Division of Biopharmaceutics on a project financed by the Netherlands Heart Foundation, entitled “The ABCs of Cardiovascular Disease: from the Pathogenesis of Atherosclerosis to Myocardial Ischemia”.
