Na aanleiding van die fokuspunte in hierdie navorsing kan daar ʼn aantal voorstelle vir verdere navorsing geïdentifiseer word. Die keuse om op Baudrillard se grondslag van die simulakrum te fokus is aanvegbaar, juis omdat hy self verder op die konseptualisering van die simulakrum en moontlike tekortkominge uitgebrei het in Baudrillard se eie latere werk asook kritici op Baudrillard.

In die geval van Baudrillard, kan verdere navorsing ontvou rondom sy latere tekse, byvoorbeel The Spirit of Terrorism: and Requim for the Twin Towers (2002) waaruit die komplekse verhouding tussen die teken en referent ontrafel word. Baudrillard se latere werke ruim die weg vir “interne kortsluitings” binne die simulakrum asook die breuk van die gebeure bring om die verdwene werklikheid te herstel. Om die rede

beoog ek om saam met my studieleier artikels te publiseer wat ondersoek rig na Baudrillard se latere perspektiewe van die simulakrum en die impak van dié beskouing op die visuele kunste en kultuur.

Verder kan ondersoek gerig word na die resente en kragrige teenbeweging wat klem op onder meer plaas op die ertiese plig om opnuut aandag na die werklikheid as oorsprong te gee en om in die kunste “representational accuracy” na te streef (vgl. Toth, J. 2010. The passing of postmodernism: a spectroanalysis of the contemporary). Ek boog verde ook om dié teenbeweging in verdere navorsing en artikels te inkorporeer.
