The finely modelled head with a headdress consisting of the horns of Khnum, twin plumes and a solar disc. Mounted on a black wooden base. 2029 Pompeii, a Roman marble fragment of male figural group, 1st century BC-79 AD, as part of a larger figural group. The male torso with two fine articulated hands resting on the back, two stump arms and a deep belly button. With Bought by the grandfather of the current owner, Dhr. Emmo van Benningsen, in the auction of the collection of Joachim Ferroni, sold in 1909 at the Galerie Sangiorgi, Rome. The grandfa-ther bought several Roman art objects in that auction, this buste was part of those purchaces (information directly from the family).
