Another week of light to moderate rains occurred in Hispaniola. Moderate rainfall totals remained in the northern half of the island while the lighter totals were found in the south. Despite the recent decrease in rainfall totals, July rainfall in Haiti remains above average. The recent rain activity has been beneficial to harvest and sowing as the country shifts into its second cropping season. During the July 24 – 30 period moderate rains are expected across the island with the exception of the southern peninsula of the Dominican Republic where light rains are likely.
