1. An area of low pressure over the Gulf of Honduras may produce heavy rains during the 9th and early on the 10th across Belize, east-central portions of Guatemala and northern portions of Honduras. Although widespread heavy rain is not expected, some locations may receive enough rainfall to trigger flash flooding. The greatest likelihood of flooding exists in low lying areas, urban areas and in mountainous areas. The low pressure area is expected to pull away from the region during the 10th, diminishing the risk for heavy rains and flooding.

2. The wind pattern will be favorable for heavy rains across southern Guatemala, El Salvador, far southern Honduras and northwestern Nicaragua during the period. As a result, the potential for flooding exists across these areas.
