Behrouz Karoubi was born on 19 November 1975 in Arak, Iran. He received his M.A. in Translation Studies from Tehran Azad University in 2003 with a thesis on the role of ideology in translation. Karoubi started his academic career in the same year as a university lecturer at Arak Azad University, Iran, where he taught various courses on theory and practice of translation (English-Persian) for more than 6 years. In 2009, he was admmitted as a Ph.D. candidate at Leiden University Institute for Area Studies (LIAS), the Netherlands, to conduct doctoral research on the subject of Translation Quality Assessment (TQA).
Karoubi’s areas of research interest, on which he has published several articles, include translation and gender, translation and ideology, and translation quality assessment.
