Exploring Asymmetric Catalytic Transformations van Sureshbabu Guduguntla
1) The worldwide production and consumption of n-BuLi and other organolithium compounds is estimated around 1800 tonnes per year. Therefore a referee’s judgement "Using highly reactive organolithium reagents in asymmetric catalysis is a step backward” is completely inappropriate.
2) Appropriate citations are mandatory for scientific publications. [Cu(NHC)]-Catalyzed C-H Allylation and Alkenylation of both Electron-Deficient and Electron-Rich (Hetero)arenes with Allyl Halides; Xie, W.; Chang, S. Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2016, 55, 1876. 3) Covalent bond creates molecules whereas hydrogen bond makes its
life.
4) Appropriate scientific reviewing is essential to advance science. Novel piperazine core compound induces death in human liver cancer cells: possible pharmacological Properties; Samie, N.; Muniandy, S.; Kanthimathi, M. S.; Haerian, B. S.; Raja Elina Raja Azudin, R. E. R.
Sci. Rep. 2016, 6, 24172.
5) Switching from phosphorous based ligands to NHC-based ligands is not a bad idea. In this thesis Chapters 3 and 4.
6) It is always good to have a promising side project when you are dealing with a highly challenging project.

8) Cross checking the enantioselectivites using different analytical techniques is required before reporting a new asymmetric catalytic transformation in a scientific journal.
El-Qisairi, A. K.; Qaseer, H. A.; Katsigras, G.; Lorenzi, P.; Trivedi, U.; Tracz, S.; Hartman, A.; Miller, J. A.; Henry, P. M. Org. Lett.
2003, 5, 439.
9) Sometimes investigating the catalytic activity of the impurities present in the commercially available catalysts is very important. Carole, W. A.; Bradley, J.; Sarwar, M.; Colacot, T. J. Org. Lett. 2015,
17, 5472.
10) Reporting systematic study and appropriate control experiments are necessasary prior to claiming a new catalytic transformation.
