1. The phrase “stick out your tongue” is often missing in the current medical practice.

2. Ancient Western and Chinese medicine meet each other in the tongue coating.

3. The 16S rRNA sequencing counts solely depends on the quality of the DNA and standard library preparation

4. Existence of minor differences in the composition of the oral microbiome in halitosis and non-halitosis shows a new microbial phenomenon in oral microbiology.

5. Solobacterium moorei is not a significant marker bacterium of intra oral halitosis.

6. The altered metabolomic profile of the microbial tongue coating in intra-oral halitosis is the main cause of intra-oral halitosis.

7. Branched chain fatty acids are produced mainly by bacteria and may play an essential role in the onset of intra-oral halitosis.

8. Tongue coating and intra-oral halitosis may be a reflection of the disorders of the gastrointestinal system.

9. Removal of tongue coating influences salty taste and may have an indirect influence on general health.
