Cinema
Projection of films and documentary in the districts of Bukavu in the same way of the “Cinema weeks” organized by 3TAMIS.Music, ballets, tales, folklore.
In 2007, with BKFlavour, an association of impassioned young people, more than twenty artists from Bukavu, Goma and Kinshasa, Rwanda and Burundi offered several concerts.They recorded during a workshop, the song of the festival. That was a formidable experience to be renewed with the improvements which are essential… The ballets, tales and spectacles will have their place according to the proposals and of the availabilities.
Fair of the companies
to emphasize the dynamism and the economic potentialities of the Area of the Large Lakes. In only one place, the companies will present their products with an attention at the durable devel- opment. Conferences could be done as well as going round the site.Media - Workshops and conferences - Exposures of art
The Media will carry out special pages for the promotion and the follow-up of the Festival. Workshops or conferences could be organized under the direction or with the guest’s participation. Each place could receive an exposure of art, either in the hotels or at the fair of the companies…Tourism and durable development
will be given an especial attention by the visits to the most beauti- ful tourist sites of Bukavu. For the first time, we will try to organize a lodging “at the inhabitant” for the artists, the foreign personalities and visitors, in the spirit of ethical and equitable tourism.Places
the Festival will be organized, as its name indicates, in the town of Bukavu and its surroundings like Bagira, Kadutu and Ibanda but also in some villages as that was already done in 2007. Even if some demons- trations will be “VIP” the festival preserves its popular character, in the direction of accessible to a maximum of people.Dates and Program
Of July 19 to august 3, 2008 just before the rainy season, one duration slightly larger than the edition 2007. The detailed program will built progressively as far as invitations are delivered. It will be published on the Web site.Steering Committee

If we want to give breadth to this project, it is because it mobilizes on all the levels; it puts the community in the dynamics of project; it makes it possible to show that the dividends of peace are more important than those of violence in all its forms.
In return of Yambi 2007 when 150 Congolese artists were invited in Belgium, the Festival of Bukavu and parti- cularly the FestBuk08 must become the symbol of peace found, confirmed by political, civil and military leaders as essential for the durable development and the wealth thanks to the meeting of diversities.
Bukavu and the Area have a single potential greedy for spectators and actors of discovered…

Bukavu 2007
Created in 2002, the ASBL 3TAMIS is active in the audio visual field and covers the economic, social and environ- mental subjects; Its goal is to support education with the development, peace initiatives by the audio-visual means and training with the Human relation.
Located at Bukavu in the South-Kivu, Kalima in Manie- ma, and Kalemie in North-Katanga, the 3TAMIS are ba- sed on a network of local, regional or international part- ners, for all its activities.
More than 128 documentary videos were realized and 135 projections in the open air, in covered spaces or via televisions, that is remarkable!
Contact of “Yambi 07”, 3TAMIS takes part in the promo- tion of the Cultures. Since 2004, festivals of various dis- ciplines are organized.
The Web site www.3tamis.org is used to make known the important resources of the area, in a constructive way.
The projects of the 3TAMIS are ambitious, can be a little insane: The international Arts centre of Bukavu and 3TA- MIS Community Television of central Africa, are in pro- ject…

People in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo underwent during a long time, all that the war and a policy of “not State” generates like vio- lences.
However, since 2004 at Kalemie and 2005 without interruption in Bukavu, 3TAMIS organizes a festival of the cinema and the documentary.
In 2005 and 2006, the accent was given to the pre- paration to the elections and education for demo- cracy with a impressing number of projections until in the most moved back corners of the province, sometimes by the helicopters of MONUC!
In 2007, we wanted to celebrate the return to peace for a whole people which will have awaited 46 years the first democratic elections ever carried out in DRC. With this event, Bukavu found the taste of the “relaxation” and the desire for living differently.
FestBuk 2007 was the first great inter cultural demonstration (cinema, music, folklore, ballet, tourism) carried out since many years.
Then, it seems to us that following these first experiments, the Festival of Bukavu will know bet- ter still, being the expression of a new dynamism, thrust in the future of all the East area of Afri- ca.

Bukavu is at crossroads…
Between Northern Kivu, Maniema, Katanga, with the cities of Goma, Bunia, Butembo, Kisan- gani, Kindu, Uvira, Kalemie, Lubumbashi, and between Rwanda and Burundi, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya… The city is accessible by the superb road from Kigali - Bukavu, of Bujum- bura by the escarpment in the mountains or via Rwanda, the crossing of the lake from Go- ma, the road of Kasongo, the airport of Kavumu or Cyangugu, just near Rwanda.
Tourist area. The splendid landscapes with the lake Kivu, the park of Kahuzi Biega (Visit of Gorillas), the plantations of tea, the tropical forest very close, are to be discovered; There are capacities of traditional hotel reception or the inns and the lodging at the inhabitant which is little by little introduced;
Its moderate climate related to the altitude of 1.400 meters on the level of the lake, makes it possible to imagine pleasant moments in day and in the evening…
Research center.
With its national and international organizations of development, its higher and university edu- cational establishments, with the research center in natural science of Lwiro, its radios and tele- vision relay station, the area of Kivu promises to be the place of the “durable development”
Bukavu, crossroads of the cultures… Festival 2008 of Bukavu will constitute the cultural event of the Area of the Great Lakes, characterized by the organization of various festivals in the festival: cinema, musics, theatre, photograph exposure, tales, folklore and workshops/
