CURRICULUM VITAE

Ke Peng was born on the 22nd of June 1981 in Dalian, China. In 1999 he started studying chemistry at Northwest University. After his graduation from the university in August 2003 (bachelor degree), he continued to study inorganic chemistry with Prof. Shuiyang He for a master degree. In September 2005, he came to Netherlands and went on to study organic chemistry at the University of Leiden, where he obtained his master degree in August 2007. During his master study, he has performed two research internships in the groups of Prof. Dr. Gijs van der Marel & Prof. Dr. Hermen Overkleeft and Prof. Dr.

Johan Lugtenburg, respectively.

In November 2007 Ke began his PhD research in the Soft Matter Chemistry group at Leiden University. His research, conducted under the supervision of Dr. Alexander Kros, concerned the hydrogel based drug delivery systems. A selection of the results of this research are presented in this thesis. During his PhD studies Ke presented his work at Scientific meeting on Chemistry related to Physics & Material sciences, Veldhoven, the Netherlands, American chemical society national meeting Boston, the United States and Symposium on Innovative Polymers for Controlled Delivery Suzhou, China. During his PhD he has assisted several courses for bachelor students such as practical courses for Material science & Technology (2008), structure elucidation with NMR (2009) and practical courses for Life science & Technology (2009). Ke has also supervised 8 students in their final research projects.

Since 1st of April 2011, Ke has been working as a research scientist at Océ Technologies B.V..
