Di gunstige ontvangs van di Eerste en 'l'wede DeeHjies van myn "Samesprake in Afrikaanl!l en Engels" het vir my ange- moedig om op versoek van di Drukkers en Uitgewers, di Here D. PREFACE.

The favorable Reception of the First and Second little Vo- lumes of my "Dial0gues in African and English" has been an encouragement to me to write--on the request of the Printers and Publishers, Messrs.
D. F. du Toit & Co.-a third little volume. If I may be sorry for what I cannot, help, then I am sorry, that I h&d to let my friends wait for copy for more than a yea,r. My many duties are the best excuse for the long delay.
The Third little Volume ap- pears now, and ifthislittle book:
may be a help to our African- ders to learn English, and to our English friends to learn African it will be a great joy to

N.B.- There is of necessity still much uncertainty about the spelling; we long for a litte- rary Congres.
