9. Masquerade Hall (Maskeradezaal)

History

From 1836 to 1956, the masquerade formed one of the absolute highlights of the Anniversary Day celebrations of Utrecht University. In this theatre performance, disguised persons were accompanied on stage by all kinds of exotic animals and horses. The theme of the performance was often an event from national history. From 1896 onwards, an open-air performance was held as well. Until 1945, the Utrecht Student Corps had the task of organising the Anniversary Day celebrations.

Room hire includes a mobile LCD screen with a desktop (on request) and Wi-Fi.

A sound installation can be hired for 80 euros per booking.
