The work presented in this thesis was conducted at the Department of Human Movement Sciences, Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, MOVE Research Institute Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in cooperation with Reade, Heliomare, Raboudumc and Zorggroep Solis, and with funding from OIM Foundation, ZonMw, Hersenstichting Nederland, INAIL Centro Protesi and ForceLink (now part of Motekforce Link).
