Curriculum vitae

Egidia Christina (Dianne) van Beek was born July 27th, 1985 in Eindhoven. She completed

her pre-university education (VWO) at the Erasmus College in Eindhoven. In 2006 she started her bachelor studies at University College Utrecht (Utrecht University) and for one semester at the University of Wisconsin, (Wisconsin, USA). She first became enthusiastic for medical research during her internship, research thesis and honors thesis under supervision of dr. J. ter Woorst in the Catharina Hospital Eindhoven. Because of her enthusiasm for both medicine and medical research she continued her education in 2009 at the Selective Utrecht Medical Master (SUMMA) (Utrecht University). In 2013 she was the first to graduate of her cohort. During her master education, she did two extra-curricular clerkships at pediatric intensive care units; one at the Harvard Medical School in Boston which she passed with honors and one at Leiden University Medical Center in Leiden. After graduation, she first continued working at the pediatric intensive unit at Leiden University Medical Center, before she started her PhD program (promotor: Prof. Scheeren, dr. van der Horst and prof. Struys). During her PhD she continued her education by obtaining the master degree in Epidemiology (Utrecht University). She was selected for the Honors track within this master. She combined her PhD with working at the intensive care unit in the Maxima Medical Center in Veldhoven.

In July 2016, she started with a residency training for anesthesiology at the Academic Medical Centre Maastricht. In April 2019, she continued her career by working as Regional Medical Advisor for Novo Nordisk (Alphen aan de Rijn).
