1. Voor betapapillomavirussen gaat het gezegde ‘waar je mee omgaat, daar raak je mee besmet’ alleen op voor echtparen. (dit proefschrift)
2. Het verschil in aantal betaPV types dat wordt gevonden in biopten van de normale en perilesionale huid suggereert dat plaveiselcelcarcinomen ontstaan in een bescha- digd veld. (dit proefschrift)
3. In deze fase van het betaPV onderzoek is in vitro onderzoek naar een plausibel biologisch mechanisme voor betaPV geïnduceerde huidkanker van groter belang dan verder epidemiologisch onderzoek. (dit proefschrift)
4. Persistentie is niet alleen voor betapapillomavirussen, maar ook voor AIO’s een belangrijke eigenschap. (dit proefschrift)
5. Voorkomen is beter dan genezen, maar preventie blijft moeilijker dan behandelen.

geren van een HPV-vaccinatie vanwege het risico gepaard moeten gaan met een algemeen verbod op keukentrapjes.
