- Patiënten ouder dan 80 jaar hoeven niet volgens het standaard follow up schema te worden vervolgd na een endovasculaire uitschakeling van een abdominaal aorta aneurysma (AAA). (Dit proefschrift)
- Bij de overweging om een re-interventie te verrichten na
uitschakeling van een AAA, spelen specifieke leeftijd gerelateerde factoren een rol die moeten worden meegenomen in de

- Met de huidige endovasculaire behandelopties is leeftijd alleen geen reden om ouderen niet te behandelen aan een (symptomatisch) AAA. (Dit proefschrift)
- Op basis van patiëntkarakteristieken kunnen patiënten met een verhoogd risico op postoperatief delier in kaart worden gebracht voor wie een aangepaste benadering gerechtvaardigd is. (Dit proefschrift)
- Oudere patiënten vertonen vaak een hogere mate van
kwetsbaarheid, maar niet alle kwetsbare patiënten zijn oud. (Dit proefschrift)
- Patiënten met het metabool syndroom kunnen veilig een carotisendarterectomie ondergaan zonder verhoogd risico op complicaties. (Dit proefschrift)
- Wanneer we niet alleen kijken naar kwetsbaarheid als geheel, maar ook naar de afzonderlijke domeinen, zijn we nog beter in staat om complicaties na vaatchirurgische interventies te voorspellen, en uitkomsten te verbeteren. (Dit proefschrift)
