Isaiah 40:3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of the LO R D; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.”

Malachi 3:1 “Behold, I send My messenger, and he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple, even the Messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight. Behold, He is coming,” says the LORD of hosts.

Malachi 4:5-6 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. And he will turn⁶ the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”

Neh. 9:6 You alone are the LORD; You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all things on it, the seas and all that is in them, and You preserve them all. The host of heaven worships You.

Psalm 33:6-9 By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. 3. The Maker and Sustainer of Heaven and Earth

Psalm 102:25-27 Of old You laid the founda- tion of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You²⁶ will endure; Yes, all of them will grow old like a garment; like a cloak You will change them, and they will be changed. But You are the²⁷ same, and Your years will have no end.

Heb. 1:10-12 And: “You, LORD, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands; ¹¹ they will perish, but You remain; and they will all grow old like a garment; like a cloak You¹² will fold them up, and they will be changed.

But You are the same, and Your years will not fail.”

5. The Glory of the Lord Isaiah 6:1-5 In the year that King Uzziah

died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Above it stood seraphim; each² one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one cried to another and³ said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts;

the whole earth is full of His glory!” And the⁴ posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke. Then I said: “Woe is me, for I am⁵ undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD

of hosts.”

John 12:37-41 But although He had done so many signs before them, they did not believe in Him, that the word of Isaiah the prophet³⁸ might be fulfilled, which he spoke: “Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?” Therefore³⁹ they could not believe, because Isaiah said again: “He has blinded their eyes and hard-⁴⁰ ened their heart, lest they should see with their eyes and understand with their heart, lest they should turn, so that I should heal them.” ⁴¹ These things Isaiah said when he saw His glory and spoke of Him.

6. Every Knee Should Bow Isaiah 45:23-25 I have sworn by Myself; the

word has gone out of My mouth in righteous- ness, and shall not return, that to Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall take an oath. He shall say, ‘Surely in the L²⁴ ORD I have righteousness and strength. To Him men shall come, and all shall be ashamed who are incensed against Him. In the L²⁵ ORD all the descendants of Israel shall be justified, and shall glory.’”

Phil. 2:10-11 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that

7. Call Upon Him for Salvation

Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass that who- ever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, as the LORD has said, among the remnant whom the LORD calls.

Rom. 10:13 For “whoever calls upon the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

Acts 2:16-17, 21 “But this is what was spo- ken by the prophet Joel: ‘And it shall come¹⁷ to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams.... And it shall come to pass²¹ that whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.’”

8. Judgment of Mankind

Isaiah 45:23 I have sworn by Myself; the word has gone out of My mouth in righteous- ness, and shall not return, that to Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall take an oath.

Rom. 14:10-11 But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written:¹¹

“As I live, says the LORD, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.”

9. Rock

2 Sam. 22:2-3 And he said: “The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; the God³ of my strength, in Him I will trust, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge; my Savior, You save me from violence.

1 Cor. 10:4 And all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.

Isaiah 8:13-14 The LORD of hosts, Him you shall hallow; let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread. He will be as a sanctuary, but¹⁴ a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense to both the houses of Israel, as a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Ezek. 34:11-12 For thus says the Lord GOD:

“Indeed I Myself will search for My sheep and seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his¹² flock on the day he is among his scattered sheep, so will I seek out My sheep and deliver them from all the places where they were scat- tered on a cloudy and dark day.”

John 10:11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.”

11. Savior Isaiah 43:3 For I am the LORD your God, the

Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place.

Isaiah 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD, and besides Me there is no savior.
