Curriculum vitae

Annemieke Johanna Willemze was born on the 28th of September, 1972 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She attended secondary school at the “Stedelijk Gymnasium” in Leiden, where she passed her exam in 1990. In the same year she started her study of Medicine at the University of Leiden. The academic year of 1993/1994 she studied at the Medical Faculty of the University of Paris, VII. From Octobre 1995 till March 1996 she carried out a research project at the Center for Thrombosis and Hemostasis at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (under supervision of F.Church). In March 1998 she received her medical degree. After one and a half year of residency in “Pulmonary Diseases” at the “Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis” in Amsterdam she started her AGIKO program, i.e. a combined residency in Pediatrics and PhD scholarship, in the Leiden University Medical Center. On Octobre 15th, 2007 she completed her pediatric training. She is married to Evert den Boer and mother to Teun (2003), Kiki (2005) and Roos (2007).
