Conditions of operation:

Opening of the metallic box under air flow in clean room:

Cleaning and air gun flowing of metallic box Unscrewing 4 screws.

Removing of upper cover Visual inspection of Plane face Removing of mirror

Visual inspection of curved face of the mirror hold by hand

Positioning of the mirror in the Perugia box (cleaned in ultrasonic device and air flowed), curved face side downwards, the arrow facing the reference mark on the teflon.

Closing of the teflon box

Turning the curved face upwards

Last visual inspection before closing with metallic plate

Number of persons during the opening: 2 (M.Punturo, C.N.Man) Observations:

Plane face: no visible defects, no visible particles

Curved face: many small visible “particles” (about 20) of size up to microns , the closest one is 1 cm from the center (corresponds to defects on substrate see Lyon’s characterization)

Air gun flowing did not change anything.
