2. ESEH Zagreb 2017

The Call for Papers for the 2017 Conference of the European Society for Environmental History is online. The conference is taking place in Zagreb, from 28 June to 2nd of July 2017. The theme of the conference is ‘Natures in between. Environments in areas of contact among

states, economic systemas, cultures and religions’, but the conference is open to a broad range

of topics and disciplines,

3. Journal for the History of Environment and Society (JHES)

The first issue of the JHES has been published by Brepols-Publishers. It is full open-access, although a print version is available as well:

4. Two New Journals on Historical Geography

In maart jl. verscheen het eerste nummer van het nieuwe Tijdschrift voor Historische

Geografie. Het Tijdschrift voor Historische Geografie (THG) is hét vaktijdschrift over de geschiedenis van het Nederlandse cultuurlandschap, inclusief de steden. Het verschijnt vier keer per jaar en is rijk geïllustreerd met kaarten, foto’s, prenten en schilderijen. THG biedt een podium aan zowel jonge als ervaren auteurs die onderzoek doen naar de historisch-ruimtelijke ontwikkeling van stad en land. Daarnaast signaleert het tijdschrift door middel van vaste literatuur- en berichtenrubrieken actuele ontwikkelingen, zowel binnen de historische geografie als op het snijvlak met aanpalende vakgebieden zoals de stedenbouw- en architectuurgeschiedenis, de archeologie en de planologie

En tegelijk lanceert Uitgeverij Matrijs een nieuw tijdschrift Het Nederlands Landschap

Het Nederlands landschap. Tijdschrift voor landschapsgeschiedenis is een blad voor iedereen die zich interesseert voor het Nederlandse landschap en zijn geschiedenis. Het is een toegankelijk tijdschrift waarin vele wetenschappelijke disciplines samenkomen en gekoppeld worden aan actuele thema`s in het werkveld van het Nederlandse landschap. 5. Three PhD-vacancies on Urban Environmental History at the University of Antwerp

The Centre for Urban History at the University of Antwerp has three vacancies for PhD-scholarships on Urban Environmental History before 1850:
