Debate at ITU Telecom World 2015

The Forum

Accelerating growth in the digital economy demands new partnerships and new approaches to enabling innovation.

Digital transformation in an age of exponential change is leading to entirely interdependent ecosystems, a mash-up of new players, new industries, new ways of running companies and even a new economic paradigm.

Small and medium businesses, entrepreneurs, start-ups and innovators are an integral part of the transformation and an increasingly critical link in the ICT ecosystem, driving innovation across all markets, developed and emerging alike.

Interactive discussions at ITU Telecom World 2015 examine the key trends and developments in technology, regulatory and policy issues, business models, services and applications – focusing on four major areas:

Innovation:

How can governments, regulators, operators and vendors foster small businesses and innovative concepts, accelerate innovation and drive industry growth?

Partnerships:

How can we break down silos between governments, public/

private sector and across verticals and forge mutually beneficial partnerships?

Regulation:

Regulators are the key enablers in the new ecosystem – but what approaches and regulatory concepts are working best?

Emerging Markets:

Nowhere does ICT development offer so many opportunities as in emerging markets. But what are the unique opportunities and challenges from an emerging market perspective?

Sessions will be highly interactive and span a number of formats from high-level or ministerial debates to panel sessions and Big Conversations moderated by global media.

Leaders Programme

Central to the discussions will be the exclusive Leaders Programme featuring high-level policy debates and opportunities to showcase national achievements. The

Programme will convene ministers, leading established ICT players, regulators, representatives from SMEs, start-ups, technology clusters and investors for an interactive dialogue exploring all aspects of how to best accelerate sustainable development via innovative, ICT-based solutions.

Who you will meet

ITU Telecom World 2015 will bring together a uniquely comprehensive audience of public and private sectors from right across the ICT ecosystem including Heads of State and government, ministers, regulators, industry CEOs, small and medium enterprises,

entrepreneurs, innovators, digital thinkers, academia and consultancy.
