Call – DoY Visiting Fellowships

, 2021 Aim

 The DoY Fellowship programme brings visiting scholars in developmental, child, and adolescent research-related disciplines to Dynamics of Youth for a period of at least one month to conduct research of interest to the DoY research community and/or strengthen an ongoing collaboration of interest to the DoY community.

 The proposed research must aim to contribute to the main areas of Dynamics of Youth (see https://www.uu.nl/en/research/dynamics-of-youth/research/funding-opportunities).

 The DoY Fellowship programme is to provide the opportunity for collaborative research on DoY topics with international colleagues and for establishing lasting cooperation with research institutions across the globe.

 The DoY Fellowship gives access to existing DoY data, tools and methods for use in the proposed studies, and work on collaborative projects with DoY researchers and partners.

 The DoY Fellowship programme aims to facilitate the cooperation between DoY and other researchers, and to increase the impact and dissemination of DoY research.

 The DoY Fellowship should have complementary expertise that contributes to the Dynamics of Youth research and community.

Criteria

General criteria:

 The maximum number of words is specified in the application form.

Technical criteria:

 DoY arrangements, including AVG (Dutch Data Protection Authority), are met.

 Applications have to be submitted by a DoY scholar (UU/UMC Utrecht).

Other criteria:

 A clear added value of the work visit to - one or more - thematic DoY hubs, and/or to the larger Dynamics of Youth community.

 Importance of the work visit to the development of new collaborations and exchanges.

 Applicants may be at any stage in their career from - advanced - PhD students (must have completed coursework and be at the dissertation phase of their programme) to senior investigators.

 CV of the candidate shows the complementarity of expertise.

 Deliverables and activities, including timeline.

 Feasibility of the work plan for the work visit in relation to the period requested.

 Follow-up after the project period.

 A clear budget.*

* Subsistence costs are remunerated (e.g. travel costs, accommodation, consumables (to be declared with receipts); general fees or a per diem will not be covered.

Procedure

 The maximum budget for each proposal is 15,000 euro, project time is 2020-2021. We expect to be able to accommodate up to 3 visiting fellowships per year during 2020-2021.

 Proposals will be reviewed by the DoY programme committee (Manon Benders, Tine Beneker, Kors van der Ent, Catrin Finkenauer, Tamara van Gog, Wim Kremer, Wendy Schrama/Thomas van Huizen, Remco Veltkamp, Frank Wijnen).

 Applications should be submitted no later than three months before the intended starting date of the appointment, via Danique Daalmeijer, d.daalmeijer@uu.nl.

 Succesful applicants hand in a report on content and budget no longer than 6 weeks after the scholar visited Dynamics of Youth.
