Propositions
1. Do not judge a book ONLY by its cover. Nevertheless, it may reveal a lot about its content.
2. Some characteristics are required to be a scientist, such as curiosity and persistence. Unfortunately, in developing countries, privilege is one of them.
3. In times of fake news, Scientific Method and Philosophy should be compulsory at school.
4. As scientists, we need to learn how to dialogue with society in general and how to use the internet to spread scientific information, to compensate for the way it has been used to unite flat Earthers, anti-vaxxers and global warming skeptics. 5. The capitalist way that pressures for fast results, publication counts, citations and competition is ruining science.
6. Fear is a powerful weapon. It can make animals and people adopt conservative behavior, and apparently, make some countries go back in time.
7. There is always a way to resist social oppression and prevent further consequences of disorder in the political (and circadian) system.
