K!X Works
Refugees or new residents have to be able to participate quickly in the Nether- lands. A job or education are important requirements to be able to fully partici- pate in society. K!X Works helps young refugees and new residents to find their way to education, an internship or a job.
How does it work?
The young refugees and new residents:
• learn more about the educational system in the Netherlands, and also about the employment agencies:
• improve their (employee’s)skills by training;
• learn more about the Dutch labour market, by visiting employers and companies, but also by guest lecturers;
• build up a network;
• and reinforce their professional orientation and education choice.
Who is participating?
The new residents and refugees with a residence permit in the age between 13 and 35 years old.
What do these youngsters do at K!X Works?
The K!X Works participants undertake all kinds of activities. They visit companies and schools. They work at their communication, presentation and networking skills. The participants are intensively guided and trained for a year by Movisie and volunteers who were refugees themselves. They get coaching by employees and employers so that they increase and make use of their network. After the training they get a certificate for participating in the K!X Works project with all the skills they have ac- complished.
