Curriculum Vitae
Bram van Wijk was born on the third of June 1982 in Hardenberg, the Netherlands. In 2000, he completed high school at the Pallas Athene College in Ede. In the same year he entered Medical school at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam. He finished the propedeusis cum laude in 2001. Together with his master degree he obtained the Honours Testimonial of the Academic Medical Center of the University of Amsterdam. In 2005, he started at the Heart Failure Research Center to investigate the development of the proepicardium and the role of the epicardium in the regenerative response of the heart, under supervision of Prof. Dr. A.F.M. Moorman and Dr. M.J.B. van den Hoff. This work resulted in this thesis. In 2010 he obtained his medical degree at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam. In January 2011 he will start working at the department of cardiothoracic surgery (Academic Medical Center, Amsterdam, chairman Prof. dr. B.A.J.M. de Mol).
