CURRICULUM VITAE
Maartje Boumans werd geboren op 2 april 1980 te Geldrop. In 1998 haalde zij haar gymnasium diploma aan het Strabrecht College te Geldrop en begon zij met de studie geneeskunde aan de Universiteit Maastricht. Tijdens haar studie is zij werkzaam geweest als student-assistent bij de vakgroep klinische immunologie van het academisch ziekenhuis Maastricht, waar zij in 2002 ook haar wetenschappelijke stage deed. Na het doorlopen van de coschappen heeft zij in 2004 haar artsexamen behaald.
Direct na het behalen van het artsexamen is zij ruim anderhalf jaar werkzaam geweest als arts-assistent interne geneeskunde in het Jeroen Bosch ziekenhuis te ’s-Hertogenbosch, op de locatie Carolus (Dr. S. Shamelian). In augustus 2006 startte zij haar promotieonderzoek op de afdeling klinische immunologie en reumatologie in het Academisch Medisch Centrum (AMC)/ Universiteit van Amsterdam in Amsterdam (Promotor: Prof. Dr. P.P. Tak). Naast het doen van onderzoek was zij ook werkzaam op de polikliniek. Tevens was zij sinds oktober 2007 verantwoordelijk voor de artroscopieën die verricht werden door de afdeling, waarbij zij artsen van zowel binnen het AMC als uit het buitenland heeft opgeleid tot het verrichten van deze poliklinische ingreep.
In oktober 2011 is zij begonnen met de vooropleiding interne geneeskunde (opleider: Prof. Dr. J.B.L. Hoekstra) als onderdeel van haar opleiding tot reumatoloog (Opleider: Dr. N. de Vries) in het AMC te Amsterdam.
