6.2 Nazorg en aanbevelingen
Het eindproduct heeft een bijdrage geleverd aan het onderwerp rondom dit project. De hoofdvraag die centraal staat binnen dit project is niet volledig beantwoord waardoor het van belang is om de nazorg te beschrijven. De nazorg zal bestaan uit de dilemma’s die zijn ontstaan binnen dit traject en worden er punten opgesteld waaraan een eventuele nieuwe afstudeergroep rekening mee moet houden. Er wordt een aanbeveling gedaan over het resterende traject waarin dit project zich in bevindt. Deze punten zorgen ervoor dat er een kwalitatieve nazorg wordt geleverd waarin er kritisch gekeken wordt naar het onderwerp.
Dilemma’s: (brainstorm) lastige doelgroep, weinig informatie te vinden over kinderen met een mitochondriale aandoening. De artikelen die over kinderen met een beperking gaan, richten zich vaak op een specifieke beperking, en richten zich met name op de ouders van de kinderen. Vanuit de literatuur is het lastig om letterlijk te zien wat er gebeurd, het is filosofisch en er worden meer hypotheses gemaakt dan daadwerkelijke feiten en cijfers.
Aanbeveling onderzoek: (brainstorm) vanuit de nieuwe gevonden begrippen zoals: autonomie, levenslust, spiritualiteit en welzijn, kan het huidige onderzoek voortgezet worden. Via deze nieuwe begrippen kan er dieper tot de kern
gekomen worden. Voor het vervolgonderzoek is het van belang dat er meer vanuit de praktijk wordt onderzocht, dus meer in contact komen met zowel de kinderen, de ouders van de kinderen en de kinderergotherapeuten.
Open. Afhankelijk van de resultaten, wat is er nog nodig om de hoofdvraag te kunnen beantwoorden. (Brainstorm): Praktijkonderzoek, interviews, observaties en onderzoek naar de andere begrippen die naar boven zijn gekomen. Dit alles om dichter bij de kern te komen van de vraag.
7. Conclusie
Allereerst wordt het gebrek aan kennis en inzetten van de betekenis van handelen beaamt door filosofen, sociale wetenschappers en ergotherapeuten. Volgens hen zal de kwaliteit van leven van een persoon verbeteren wanneer deze ingezet wordt (Hammell, 2004). De ‘betekenis’ is een veelgebruikt begrip binnen de ergotherapie. Daarbij is opgevallen dat er zowel in de literatuur, als in de huidige modellen en assessments geen eenduidige definitie van de betekenis wordt gebruikt. Er is behoefte aan een onderbouwd theoretisch model waarin ‘betekenis’ verdiept wordt. Nieuwe en krachtige onderzoeksparadigma’s kunnen hierbij ontdekt worden zodat methoden rondom zingeving in het leven opgesteld kunnen worden (Martela & Steger, 2016)
Binnen dit onderzoek zijn de termen: betekenisvol, motivatie en belangrijkheid uiteengezet en is er een conceptmodel ontwikkeld die de onderlinge relatie tussen deze begrippen beschrijft. Echter is dit concept model nog niet geheel volledig en is verder onderzoek noodzakelijk. Wel is het concept model bruikbaar om informatie over de betekenis van handelen te analyseren.
Door de complexiteit van dit onderwerp is het niet mogelijk om de betekenis van handelen van kinderen met MCB hebben te categoriseren. Onderzoek binnen de handelingsgebieden: wonen/zorgen, werken/leren, vrije tijd/spel laten daarbij wel overeenkomsten zien. Deze overeenkomsten zijn:
- Participeren binnen de verschillende handelingsgebieden lijkt een belangrijk begrip te zijn
- De omgeving heeft een grote invloed op de participatie, zowel positief als negatief
- Spel heeft een invloed op de ontwikkeling van het kind binnen de verschillende handelingsgebieden
Deze overeenkomsten leveren een bijdragen bij aan het beantwoorden van de hoofdvraag: “Wat is de betekenis van handelen van kinderen met een
meervoudige beperking en hoe kunnen kinderergotherapeuten dit inzicht meenemen in de ergotherapeutisch behandeling?”. Uit het resultaat van dit onderzoek kan er geconcludeerd dat er middels alleen literatuuronderzoek maar gedeeltelijk antwoord gegeven kan worden op de hoofdvraag. Praktijkonderzoek in de toekomst is noodzakelijk om aspecten binnen dit thema verder uit te diepen en te definiëren. Het concept model kan daarbij richting gegeven binnen het thema betekenisvol handelen.
Het tweede gedeelte van de vraag betreft de toepassing van de informatie binnen het ergotherapeutisch traject. Het eindproduct heeft potentie om van toegevoegde waarde te zijn binnen de ergotherapie. Echter het eindproduct is in een conceptfase waardoor waarbij er geen implementatieplan is uitgewerkt om de resultaten in de praktijk toe te passen. De basis om iets toe te voegen binnen het beroep ergotherapie is er, alleen moet deze nader onderzocht en aangevuld worden.
