Controles

Er is geen wetenschappelijke onderbouwing voor de controlefrequentie. De werkgroep is tot consensus gekomen dat er, uitgaande van het gunstige natuurlijk beloop van mictieklachten, geen reden is om standaard vervolgafspraken te maken bij mannen met milde klachten die niet actief behandeld worden. Het is vanzelfsprekend dat patiënten bij toename van klachten zich weer kunnen melden. Dit beleid is in overeenstemming met de NICE-richtlijn en de NVU-richtlijn. De controle vanwege ingestelde medicamenteuze behandeling vindt (eventueel telefonisch) plaats na zes weken ter beoordeling van het effect en na drie tot zes maanden om met de patiënt te bespreken of de medicatie kan worden gestopt om te beoordelen of de klachten daardoor weer toenemen.
