7.4 Aanbevelingen

De eerste aanbevelingen voor volgende onderzoeken vloeien voort uit de tekortkomingen van dit onderzoek. In plaats van het gebruiken van een quotum sample van de artikelen op blogs en in de kranten, zou het goed zijn om een specifieke casus te onderzoeken. Wat gebeurt er als

rechtbankverslaggevers over dezelfde zaak in de krant én op het blog schrijven? Wat zijn dan precies de verschillen? Het is in dit onderzoek niet onderzocht omdat er te weinig materiaal voorhanden was, maar wellicht kunnen in een vervolgonderzoek meerdere casussen geanalyseerd worden waardoor de

uitkomsten sterker staan. Ook is het wellicht interessant dit onderzoek met bloggende

rechtbankjournalisten in een ander land te doen. Eventueel kan er een vergelijking getrokken worden tussen bloggende rechtbankverslaggers in Nederland en in het buitenland.

Interessant is het om in een vervolgonderzoek dieper in te gaan op de ethische standaarden van journalisten online en offline. Er is eerder aangetoond dat burgerbloggers anderen standaarden bezigen

dan journalisten in traditionele media. In dit onderzoek is aangetoond dat ook sommige

rechtbankverslaggevers hun journalistieke gedragscode deels negeren als zij online publiceren. Het is boeiend om te onderzoeken of dat alleen voor rechtbankverslaggevers zo is of dat journalisten met andere genres hier ook mee te maken krijgen.

Misschien is het een onderzoek waard om het effect van rechtbankblogs en het effect van

krantenverslagen op lezers te meten. Het blog is een meningencircus, ook als het blog aan een journalist toebehoort, dat is ook uit dit onderzoek gekomen. Maar in hoeverre wordt de mening van de lezer over een rechtszaak hierdoor beïnvloed?

Terugkomend op een toevallig gevonden correlatie van de lengte van de teksten en de hoeveelheid reacties die onder een verhaal gegeven zijn, is dit aspect ook de moeite van het analyseren waard. Tot nu toe is gedacht dat alle teksten op internet kort moeten zijn om de aandacht van de bezoeker vast te houden terwijl de uitkomsten in dit onderzoek het tegenovergestelde impliceren. Mogelijk is de aandacht spanne in de periode dat internet beschikbaar is verschoven. Het is altijd belangrijk up to date te blijven met wat bezoekers van websites willen. Wellicht is dit onderzoek een startpunt voor nieuwe onderzoeken en uiteindelijk nieuwe inzichten over blogs en hun gebruikers.
