165 Talita Honorato was born in Araraquara, a small town in the south-east re-gion of Brazil, in the state of São Paulo. As a teenager, she moved to Davis, California, USA, with her family, where her father worked as a researcher at the University of California, and where she attended part of Junior high and High school. After returning to Brazil, Talita finished high school and started her studies as a medical student at the Federal University of São Paulo- Pau-lista Medical School. During her 5th year in medical school, Talia was admit-ted as an exchange student in the Clinical and Psychosocial Epidemiology master program at the University of Groningen, in the Netherlands where she later started an MD/ PhD sandwich program.
