W illy Graffelman werd geboren op 21 augustus 1951 te Zelhem. In 1967 werd het MULO diploma gehaald en in dat jaar werd de opleiding tot medisch analist begonnen. In 1969 werd het diploma Leerling-analist en 1972 het diploma Analist (klinisch-chemisch diploma C) behaald.
