These propositions belong to the PhD thesis entitled Diminished ovarian reserve and adverse reproductive outcomes
Epidemiologic studies on their association
1. Previous ovarian surgery, presumably leading to decreased ovarian reserve, is not associated with an increased risk for a subsequent trisomic pregnan-cy. (This thesis)
2. Low oocyte yield during IVF treatment is not associated with an increased miscarriage risk, unless the patient undergoing IVF is classified as a “poor responder” as defined by the Bologna criteria. (This thesis)
3. The oocyte pool hypothesis, which states that a lower number of available oocytes leads to an increased risk of aneuploidy, does not apply for preg-nancies following ovarian surgery or a low oocyte yield in IVF treatment. (This thesis)
4. Low oocyte yield during IVF treatment per se is not associated with a higher risk of having a trisomic pregnancy (This thesis).
5. Cigarette smoke exposure in-utero is not associated with early menopause later in life, but it leads to an increased risk of miscarriage. (This thesis) 6. Freezing oocytes is not the solution to the issues women encounter when
delaying childbearing.
7. It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change (Charles Darwin)
8. We finished some important work that will make my husband world fa-mous ( Mileva Marić- Einstein)
