Seeds&Chips, The Global Food Innovation Summit, is world-leading flagship event in the Food Innovation field. A showcase of excellence entirely dedicated to the promotion of solutions and the latest state-of-the-art technological talents from worldwide. Following the legacy of EXPO Milano 2015 the purpose is to continue addressing global issues impacting the food chain to deliver solutions which can actively contribute to achieve the targets set by the Sustainable Development Goals. The event brings togethe r hundreds of startups, companies, universities, institutions, investors, accelerators and incubators, opinion leaders and policy makers from worldwide.

The Global Food Innovation Summit takes place in Milano since 2015, an exhibit as well as a conference with different sessions to present and discuss themes, trends and innovations.

In the exhibition areas, major companies, institutions and startups present their innovations and solutions, looking for potential new business opportunities. A business matching platform allows exhibitors and visitors to schedule one to one meetings throughout the course of the Summit. In addition, pitch competitions and hackathons are organized in conjunctions with public and private partners.

The full schedule of conference features influential experts who exchange points of view on the most significant scenarios concerning food production and supply. Topics explore every aspect of the agrifood chain from farm to fork such as precision agriculture, artificial intelligence, nutrition, food security, circular economy, investments and open innovation.

Seeds&Chips 2017 keynote speaker, President Barack Obama, delivered inspiring remarks on the importance on food innovation and the impact of climate change and sustainable practices on our global food system. The 2018 edition saw more than 300 speakers from all over the world, among them former US Secretary of State John Kerry, President of IFAD Gilbert Houngbo, Minister of Agriculture of the Kingdom of The Netherlands Carola Schouten, HRH Princess Viktoria de Bourbon de Parme, former European Commission President and Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi, Howard Schultz, Founder & Chairman of Starbucks and Nathan Myhrvold, Founder of Intellectual Ventures.

Seeds&Chips works closely with a large network of institutional, corporate and media partners. 2018 institutional partners include: World Food Programme; UNIDO ITPO Italy;

European Commission, Connect4Climate, Embassy of The Netherlands to Italy, Embassy of Canada to Italy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, Italian National Research Council (CNR), Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), Lombardy Region, City of Milan, German-Italian Chamber of Industry and Commerce. 2018 corporate partners include: Bayer, Intesa Sanpaolo, KPMG, Carlsberg Italia, Bolton Group, DNV GL, IBM, Carrefour, Coop, 3M, Tetrapack, Deloitte, Unilever.

Seeds&Chips 5th edition will be held on May 6th-9th at Fiera Milano Rho in synergy with TuttoFood, the international trade show dedicated to food and beverage organized every two years (2017 edition saw more than 80.000 visitors from all over the world).
