of the Myofibroblast Phenotype’

1. YAP reguleert het myofibroblast fenotype via zowel biochemische als biomechanische signaaltransductie.

2. De klassieke kijk op signaaltransductieroutes is verschoven van geïsoleerde entiteiten richting complexe communicatienetwerken. 3. Het beoefenen van wetenschap is niet een kwestie van ‘doen’, maar een

kwestie van ‘zijn’.

4. Het includeren van biomechanische experimenten in biomedisch onderzoek is van cruciaal belang voor de betrouwbaarheid van resultaten en de vertaling naar de kliniek.

5. Wie op onderzoek uitgaat in de duisternis kan verrassende resultaten verwachten.

6. Het publiceren van ‘negatieve data’ is van ongekend belang voor de vooruitgang van de wetenschap.
