Qiang Gao was born on 21 August, 1961 in Zhengzhou, Henan province, P.R. China.

Feb. 1967-Jul. 1977: Primary and secondary education at Zhongmou County Schools, Zhengzhou, Henan province, China.

Feb. 1978-Dec. 1982:Undergraduate medical student, obtained the Bachelor degree of M edicine at Henan M edical College (later called Henan M edical University), Zhengzhou, Henan province, China.

Feb. 1983-Aug. 1986:M edicaldoctor in the Department of Internal M edicine, Zhongmou County Hospital, Henan province, China.

Sept. 1986-Jul. 1989: Graduate medicalstudent under the supervision of Prof. Du Bailian, obtained the M aster degree of M edicine in the Department of Anatomy, Henan M edicalUniversity. The project was entitled:allotransplantation of intrahepatic pancreatic islets in diabetic rats induced by alloxan.
