The research presented in this thesis was carried out at the Dutch Montagu’s Harrier Foundation (Grauwe Kiekendief ­ Kenniscentrum Akkervogels), the Conservation Ecology Group, Groningen Institute for Evolutionary Life Sciences (GELIFES), University of Groningen, The Netherlands, and the Centre d'Etudes Biologiques de Chizé, UMR 7372, CNRS & Université de La Rochelle, France.
