to have you around and thank you for the nice talks during lunch about everything other than our PhD research. In het bijzonder wil ik iedereen van onze unit ‘Health Behavior Epidemiology’ bedanken: Aat, Anna, Bart, Jacobien, Jisca, Judith, Leonie, Nynke, Reinder en Wilma. Onze unit meetings waren altijd erg leerzaam, interessant, en gelukkig ook gezellig. Ik heb hier met plezier regelmatig mijn onderzoek aan jullie gepresenteerd en met jullie besproken. En ons wintersportweekendje in Winterberg, waar ik voor het eerst in mijn leven op de ski’s heb gestaan, was natuurlijk een hoogtepunt waar ik nog vaak met veel plezier aan terug denk!
Jisca en Jacobien, ik ben enorm blij dat ik jullie mijn paranimfen kan noemen. Jisca, wij begonnen samen aan het promotie-avontuur en hebben al die tijd een werkkamer gedeeld. Ik vond het heel fijn om samen op te kunnen trekken en van alles te kunnen bespreken, over werk maar vaak ook even niet over werk. Met bewondering heb ik gekeken naar jouw harde werken om jouw proefschrift af te ronden! Jacobien, wat vond ik het fijn dat jij mijn nieuwe kamergenoot werd! Onze wandelingetjes naar de lekkere koffie beneden in het ziekenhuis en de leuke gesprekken; ik mis ze nog steeds. Gelukkig is er Whatsapp :) Dear Loretto, I really enjoyed our time as roommates. Not only because of our fun conversations in our office, but also because of your help with all my questions about the English language. Thank you for the nice time as roommates and I wish you all the best in Germany!
Uiteraard wil ik vrienden en familie bedanken voor hun steun en afleiding. Lieve Anke, Ilse, Jolien, Roza en Wieteke, na onze studies in Nijmegen zijn we uitgewaaierd over Nederland (en verder). Maar onze vriendschap bleef hecht en ik denk met groot plezier terug aan al onze (verrassings-)uitjes en natuurlijk onze vakantie op Ibiza vorig jaar. Bedankt voor jullie fijne vriendschap; toen, nu en zeker ook in de toekomst! Rozemarijn, bedankt voor alle gezellige koffie-momentjes in Groningen, jij bracht een stukje Nijmegen naar Groningen! En Chantal, jij bracht een stukje Wageningen naar Groningen. Bedankt voor alle momenten op de loopband!
Lieve Rik, Michiel en Roel, wat ben ik blij dat ik jullie mijn broer(tje)s zijn, ik had het niet beter kunnen treffen. Met jullie om mij heen in de gezellige drukte aan de eettafel in Wageningen voel ik mij de gelukkigste zus ter wereld. En Rik, jouw verdediging is het beste voorbeeld dat ik me kan wensen! Pap en mam, jullie zijn uiteindelijk de basis van dit alles. Jullie hebben mij altijd gestimuleerd te doen wat ik wil en het beste uit mezelf te halen. Zonder jullie steun en vertrouwen was ik hier nooit gekomen. Bedankt, ik ben superblij dat ik jullie heb.
Tot slot, lieve Alex, jij ging met mij mee naar Groningen, waar ik je nog steeds heel dankbaar voor ben. Je bent er altijd voor mij en ik voel me door jou gesteund in alles wat ik doe. Na ons avontuur in Groningen zijn we nu ons grootste en mooiste avontuur begonnen, als ouders van onze lieve zoon Luuk. Ik heb er zo veel zin in!
