The Spanish Federation of Animation Producers and Visual Eff ects Associations is the umbrella body of the sector’s principal associations. DIBOOS works toge- ther with ANIMATION FROM SPAIN and is devoted to promoting the Spanish animation industry.
DIBOOS represents more than 90% of Spanish anima- tion and VFX production.
Since the 1960´s, Spain has a long tradition in the ani- mation fi eld as many chapters of the Pink panther or the Flintstones were animated within our borders be- ginning to develop an industry.
With the arrival of the new century our own IPs began to explore the world: “Pocoyo”, “Tad the lost explorer”,
“Bernard” were born in Spain.
Nowadays we have a strong animation industry with skilled artists off ering great quality with some of the best tax rebates in the world.
Feature fi lms like “Planet 51”, “Capture the Flag”,
“Wonderpark”, “ Buñuel in the labyrinth of the turtles”
and recently “Klaus” are good examples of the quality of the “Animation from Spain” Trademark.
However, if you do not need just animation but VFX, we also deliver it. TV series like “Game of thrones” and “the Mandalorian” have already trusted in our VFX companies.

Investment in Spanish film and audio-visual produc- tions entitles the producer to tax deduction of 25% on the first million euros of the tax base, and 20% on the sum exceeding said amount, with a maximum of €3 mi- llion euros per production. The tax base to which the deduction is applied is the total cost of production plus the cost of copies, advertising and promotional expen- ses incurred by the producer (with a limit of 40% of the production costs). The law establishes a territorial requirement and 50% of the tax base must consist of costs incurred in Spain. The total amount of all tax in- centives received may not exceed 50% of the produc- tion cost. The production must obtain a certificate of Spanish nationality and a cultural certificate.
Regional enhancements:

Tax credit of 45% on the first million € of the production cost and 40% for the rest. Production or co-production companies and investor must be tax resident in the Canary Islands. Maximum deduction will be 5.4 million €. Canarian Certificate of Audiovisual Production is required.

Tax deduction of 35%. At least 40 % of the deduction base must correspond to expensesincurred in Navarre territory.

FOREIGN PRODUCTIONS
The executive producer (registered in the ICAA’s Re- gister of Film and Audiovisual companies) of a foreign film or audiovisual production is entitled to tax relief of 20% of the production’s costs incurred in Spain pro- vided these are at least 1 million euros. The expenses that qualify for this tax relief are the costs of emplo- ying creative personnel with residence in the EEC (max 50,000€ / person) and those arising from the use of technical industries and other suppliers. This tax relief may not exceed 3 million euros per production and the total amount of all incentives may not exceed 50% of the production cost.

In the experience of production visits the contemporary Indian, country divided between the wish of progress and the defense of the traditions and she will resolve many of her personal conflicts as artist and woman, reconciling with her past.

Any city, with its cars, smoke and pollution. In the center there is an old and dry park. Suddenly, everything chan- ges and the park becomes crowded with boys and girls. In the school the initiative: “plant a tree” is underway.
The children have sown seeds that have germinated and are going to plant them in the park.
The managers of the school are alarmed at the little time the boys and girls spend playing out on the street in a natural environment and have proposed to restore the park in which the adults used to play when they were young kids.
But something surprising happens when they plant the sprouts; for each sprout planted a little gnome is born.
From then on the tree and the gnome will be vitally linked together. If one of them disappears, so will the other.
