1. Onderbehandeling van slaapproblemen staat volledige remissie van depressie in de weg. 2. Een langdurend observationeel onderzoek waarin deelnemers dagelijks hun

stemming monitoren, moet vanwege het Hawthorne-effect geclassificeerd worden als interventie-onderzoek.

3. In de eerstelijnszorg moet meer aandacht besteed worden aan de preventie en behandeling van slaapproblemen vanwege de gezondheidsrisico’s die aan slaapproblemen gerelateerd zijn.

4. De resultaten van studies met herhaalde metingen staan of vallen bij het gekozen meetinterval.

5. Tijdreeksstudies moeten gebruikt worden als aanvulling op en niet ter vervanging van traditionele onderzoeksmethoden.

6. Editors moeten regelmatig worden gewezen op wetenschappelijke integriteit opdat zij zich niet verliezen in cowboy-achtige taferelen zoals dwangcitatie. 7. Psychology needs to concern itself with life as it is lived, with significant total-
