1. Positief affect is goed voor de gezondheid
2. Het is noodzakelijk dat er een éénduidige definitie komt van allostatic load om onderzoek te kunnen vergelijken
3. Onderzoek in gezonde mensen is belangrijk om de bestaande kennis over normale fysiologie en psychologie bij te kunnen stellen en nieuwe kennis te ontwikkelen.
4. In de geneeskunde zou men ook moeten focussen op het vergroten van welzijn, in plaats van alléén het verminderen van klachten
5. De rol van cytokines in normale fysiologische processen is onderge-waardeerd
6. Elke promovendus zou verplicht moeten worden alle vakantiedagen op te nemen tijdens het promotietraject
7. Wetenschap is het antwoord op veel vragen, maar niet het antwoord op alles
8. Een planning voor het promotietraject is per definitie gedoemd om te mislukken, maar zonder planning is een promotietraject per definitie mislukt
